“Make a Difference Day!”
WHAT: The partnership between City Year Cleveland and Cleveland State University’s Department of Student Life provided students, businesses, and citizens multiple community service opportunities in the Cleveland neighborhoods. More than 80 CSU students joined City Year corps members will partner with six non-profit organizations to celebrate “Make a Difference Day!” which is the nation’s largest day of citizens volunteering to make communities stronger.
WHO: CSU students in Professor Murali D. Nair’s social sciences class embarked on a journey to explore the terrains of community service. Professor Nair’s students were paired with six members of City Year Cleveland’s Civic Engagement Team who advised them during the planning stages and helped to coordinate service on October 25, 2008.
