Comcast Corp. has expanded its partnership with City Year Inc., pledging $27 million worth of advertising and financial support over the next three years to the Boston-based nonprofit.
Among other things, the communication giant's commitment calls for providing $3 million in direct financial support to City Year and expanding the company's sponsorship of City Year teams to six sites across the country -- Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) will also increase its in-kind commitment for free airtime of PSAs featuring City Year's new "Give a Year. Change the World" tagline.
Comcast had two previous agreements with City Year over the past five yers with a total value of $30 million.
City Year is an organization in which people ages 17 to 24 pledge a year of full-time volunteer work.
