Meet the City Year Columbus staff

City Year Columbus has a young, diverse team that strives to be representative of the students we serve. Whether we are recruiting young leaders, implementing our work in schools, finding new supporters or helping our AmeriCorps members be the best they can be, we are all passionate about working together to support students.

Adero Robinson
Adero Robinson - Senior Vice President, Executive Director arobinson@cityyear.org

Adero Robinson serves as the Senior Vice President, Executive Director for City Year Columbus. In his other role as Chief of Staff, he is charged with overseeing the activities of the Executive, Human Resources, and Operations departments. Additionally, he collaborates with leadership to develop and implement long-term strategic plans and operating goals.

Adero has over 29 years of nonprofit experience. He began his career as an AmeriCorps member with City Year Columbus serving as a tutor and mentor in a Columbus City Schools 5th grade classroom. Adero then transitioned to a Project Leader, where he supervised AmeriCorps members serving at Gladstone Elementary School.

Later, as a Community Development Specialist with the Columbus Compact Corporation, Adero worked to improve the quality of life in Columbus' central city neighborhoods through the implementation of high-impact community-based projects. During his tenure as a Senior Impact Manager with the United Way of Central Ohio, Adero led the Neighborhood Partnership Center and worked with education, health, and neighborhood-based non-profits on funding opportunities, programming, and capacity building. Adero also served as the Director of Education Services for the Columbus Urban League and as a Project Manager with Battelle for Kids. He has received several community awards, including a national Comcast Leadership Award. Adero has also participated in several local and national leadership programs and has served in a leadership role on several non-profit and community boards and committees. Adero holds a B.A. from Denison University and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management. He is married to Tracy Robinson and is the proud father of four children and three stepchildren. In his spare time, Adero enjoys spending time with family, reading, watching Netflix, traveling, and coaching youth basketball. He is a 2nd-degree black belt and enjoys practicing and teaching karate.

Taylour Aungst

Taylour serves as the Impact Manager at Starling PreK-8 and is responsible for managing and supporting her team by providing the resources they need to be successful with students, as well as supporting the partnership between City Year and Starling. Taylour enjoys cooking, reading, and exercising in her spare time.

Michael serves as the impact manager at Windsor STEM Academy and is responsible for managing the team and providing them with the resources they need to be successful with students. Outside of City Year, he serves as a mentor and volunteer for local civic organizations.

Michael also spends time annotating song lyrics online, enjoying soccer, and running.

Natalie Cosgray

Natalie serves as the Impact Manager at Mifflin High School and is responsible for leading and managing her team through their student-focused service year. Originally from Columbus, Natalie attended Middle and High School in Beijing, China before returning to Ohio and graduating from Ohio University. She served her first year at City Year San Jose/Silicon Valley ('21) then joined City Year Columbus ('22) as a Senior AmeriCorps Member. Outside of work, you'll find Natalie enjoying physical activities such as hiking, wakeboarding, biking and woodworking!

Zandra Casto

Zandra serves as an impact director and is responsible for supporting our amazing impact managers and implementing our Whole School Whole Child model in our partner schools. She is always taking book recommendations and suggestions for new kombucha flavors to try.

Ashley Dzurnak
Recruitment Director, West Region adzurnak@cityyear.org

Ashley serves as the senior regional recruitment manager, and in this role, she is responsible for managing the Ohio recruitment team and recruiting AmeriCorps members at college campuses across the state. She serves as the director of operations for an LGBTQ sports league in Columbus and is an Ohio State sports fanatic.

Imani serves as the impact manager at Trevitt Elementary School and is responsible for managing her team and providing them with the resources they need to be successful with students. In her free time she likes to explore Columbus and cook new things!

Tiffani Gottlieb

Tiffani serves as the managing director of impact and is responsible for compliance, program strategy, community organization and district partnerships. She is obsessed with 90's grunge rock and has an English Mastiff that weighs 185 pounds.

Kendra Penn
Community Partnerships Manager kpenn@cityyear.org

Kendra proudly serves as the Community Partnerships Manager; in this role she is responsible for collaborating with and seeking out partners around Columbus that are committed to supporting our incredible students and ACMs.

Originally from Annapolis, Maryland she graduated from The Ohio State University and served 2 years with City Year Columbus. Outside of City Year she enjoys getting lost in magical realism, knitting & embroidering, and watching telenovelas with her cat Earl Grey.

Tiffany Priest

Tiffany serves as the managing director of development and in this role, she is responsible for leading the development team and all fundraising efforts for City Year Columbus.

Her favorite Ninja Turtle is Michelangelo, because he is obviously the best and has the most work/life balance. Feel free to send her some of your food and travel recommendations. Good vibes are welcome too.

Elissa Sensbach Murphy

Elissa serves as the development director and is responsible for coordinating the development department's activities and social media at City Year Columbus. Elissa is originally from Dover, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University. In her spare time, she enjoys being around cat and thrifting. One of her favorite artists is Queen.

Maranda Staub

Maranda serves as the Development Manager and is responsible for supporting the overall efforts of the Development team. She also leads the coordination of special events and community fundraisers to support City Year Columbus. Outside of work you’ll find Maranda spending all her free time outdoors and with her goldendoodle Willow or planning her next beach vacation with her husband.
